👓 Depth Year
🤑 Buy Nothing
Swedish Death Cleaning, also known as "döstädning," is a method of decluttering and organizing your possessions to make it easier for your family to sort through and dispose of when you are dead. The process involves going through all of the items in your house and deciding which ones to keep, which ones to throw away, and which ones to give away to friends, family, or charity shops. Yeah, hard-core decluttering has begun. Don’t worry. I’m very healthy - just time to simplify.
A “Depth Year" can be a period of time dedicated to intensive study or work in a particular field or area. It’s a time to focus on a personal project or creative pursuit, such as writing a book, learning something new or more in-depth, or working on a research project. It all boils down to “going deep” in an area of passion or interest. I have been awarded a sabbatical for the Fall 2023 semester, and the research project begins in earnest now!
The Buy Nothing movement is an international social movement that promotes anti-consumerism and voluntary simplicity. It encourages people to focus on building relationships and community rather than acquiring material possessions. Members of the Buy Nothing movement believe that this approach helps to reduce waste and promote sustainability. I have more than I need, and it is time to use what I have.
